Last month we discussed Hitler VS Trump. This month we will discuss:
PUBLIC SPEAKING
Many people who are interviewed on radio and TV fail miserably by using repetitive words such as ‘umm’ and ‘you know’ during their replies to questions.
Watch TV sporting events and you will soon understand how often the sports people answering questions, use those terms.
Those who think they might be interviewed should use a tape recorder to answer questions a friend would ask them. Then s/he would listen to the tape and determine how many times s/he repeated the word ‘umm’ before answering or during the interview.
This takes quite a bit of practice. Instead of saying ‘umm’ while you consider an answer to the questions, give silence instead, then give your answer. A short pause before answering will show you are seriously considering the question.
